Connections is Momcology’s collaborative evidence-based caregiver support group created in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Levine Children’s Hospital in response to caregiver-reported distress and the desire to build a psychosocial support community within care centers for parents. By adapting our curriculum through program licensing agreements Connections has expanded to multiple pediatric cancer care facilities across the country. Connections has been celebrated by both pediatric cancer professionals and patient families as a successful community-based intervention and model in wrap-around family-centered care.

Parents are invited to participate in planned agenda-driven sessions to explore recurring obstacles and coping strategies in a facilitated environment by both hospital psychosocial staff and local Momcology-trained peer leaders. With growth projected to continue, Momcology is now onboarding new partner hospital sites twice a year.

Our program makes integrating Connections caregiver support at your care center as easy as possible. A licensing agreement enables us to track and measure program outcomes across all partner centers. Momcology asks to be introduced to a program decision-maker at your site to begin the informative process. Please have a psychosocial professional from your center contact us to discuss program interest and internal resources to ensure that program implementation is simple and successful. Next, a licensing agreement will be presented to each potential new program partner for internal review.
The licensing agreement process is facilitated by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia legal department. Once the agreement is signed, hospital staff and peer leaders will work with Momcology to begin Connections implementation including access to curriculum modules and materials that have been built to support the Connections program. All multi-site materials have been developed in collaboration with Momcology, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Levine Children’s, and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. We look forward to helping your institution make caregiver support a standard of care.
