The Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Supportive Care Guidelines are rigorously developed evidence-based guidelines. Topics include; prophylaxis, nausea and vomiting, chronic pain, fatigue, fertility, fever and neutropenia, mucositis, and other common and recurring side effects from pediatric cancer treatment.

These guidelines were developed as a resource for clinicians who provide ongoing healthcare to survivors of pediatric cancer. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide recommendations for screening and management of late effects that may potentially arise as a result of the treatment for childhood cancer. Although the information within the guidelines will certainly be valuable to survivors themselves, the only version currently available is targeted to healthcare professionals. Survivors who choose to review these guidelines are strongly encouraged to do so with the assistance of a healthcare professional knowledgeable about long-term follow-up care for survivors of childhood cancers. Additionally, these guidelines also serve as a resource to inform health professionals without expertise in this area so they may better care for childhood cancer survivors.
